Strongly connected to the community as a leading rural mixed practice, Rangiora Vet Centre upholds the highest standards of care while constantly seeking new and innovative ways to serve clients and patients.

THE ROLE
Based in Rangiora and reporting to the Practice Manager and Directors, you will oversee the financial health of the business. Your responsibilities will include managing accounts payable, financial accounting and reporting, along with a strong focus on internal financial governance through audits to ensure accuracy. You will also maintain compliance with statutory obligations while overseeing assurance and compliance activities around stock value reports and providing oversight of the inventory team. In addition, this role will play a pivotal role in strategic and operational budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, while also supporting payroll processing, managing creditors and debtors, and developing financial models to aid decision-making. This key position is essential in ensuring financial stability and compliance across RVC and its subsidiaries.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To succeed in this role, you will be a dynamic self-starter with a strong focus on continuous improvement. You will demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach to problem solving and an ability to act as a trusted partner to leadership teams. You will excel at pivoting between operational and strategic initiatives, along with translating complex financial data into clear, actionable and operational dashboards. Growth-focused, you will bring experience in driving businesses to the next level. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero (including Hubdocs) is essential, alongside an ability to support process improvement and maintaining data integrity. While a formal accounting qualification is not required, strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication with the wider team will be critical to your success.
