Marcella developed a passion for veterinary dentistry early on in her career. Her ultimate goal for any procedure is to save teeth where possible and create comfortable mouths in our faithful companions.
Marcella Cassiani BVSc, MANZ CVS. Small Animal Veterinarian.
Marcella was born and raised in the USA near Boston, Massachusetts and moved to New Zealand in 2004 to study veterinary medicine at Massey University in Palmerston North. In her second year of vet school she succumbed to the charms of a kiwi army officer and never left!
Since graduation she has worked predominantly in small animal practice and developed a passion for veterinary dentistry early on in her career. Her interest in dentistry is fuelled by the reward of being able to see, in many cases, a dramatic improvement in her patients' quality of life.
To further solidify her special interest, in 2016 she successfully passed the Membership exams of the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists for Companion Animal Dentistry & Oral Surgery. Since then she has been working as the clinic's resident veterinary dentist while still dabbling in GP work from time to time.
Because of Marcella's qualifications, RVC is proud to be able to offer a variety of more advanced dental services which include periodontal therapies, orthodontics, restorative work, endodontics as well as non-invasive facial fracture repair and corrective surgeries for birth deformities such as cleft palates.
The ultimate goal for any procedure is to save teeth where possible and create comfortable mouths in our faithful companions.
When not at work Marcella can be found spending time with her young family, cuddling her three cats Polly, Mia and Vinny, riding her horse or having some sort of outdoor adventure.
